The goal of our Faith Formation Program is assist parents in their role as primary educators of faith.


Pre-Kindergarten thru Grade 5

  • Elementary students utilize resources provided by Sadlier's We Believe program
  • Classes meet weekly with the exception of holiday weekends and school vacations
  • Sessions are built around the Sun. 10AM Mass to allow families to attend either before or after faith formation classes


R.O.C (Rite of Confirmation) - Gr. 6-8 and High School

  • The EDGE Middle School Ministry serves teens in grades 7-8 as well as our current high school students who have not yet been Confirmed. *Note: The Confirmation age for the Archdiocese of Boston has changed to grade 8 starting in Spring 2025. This year's Confirmation program will culminate in the spring with Confirmation for teens in grade 8 - 10.
  • The curriculum is provided by LIFETEEN which presents the traditional teachings of the Church in new and engaging ways, modeling a youth ministry format that includes ice breaker games, hands on projects and small group activities
  • Classes meet 1 - 2 times a month with the exception of holiday weekends and school vacations
  • At this time sessions are built around the Sun. 10AM Mass to allow families to attend before or after faith formation class


Youth Ministry

  • Sacred Heart is home to LIFE TEEN, a nationally recognized Catholic Youth Ministry Program. With focus on the Eucharist, the mission of LIFE TEEN is to draw young people into a deeper relationship with the Lord and to recognize their role in the life of the church.
  • Monthly Youth Group Gatherings are held one Sunday per month from 11-12:00 in the Rock Room which is in the basement of our Religious Ed. buliding.

Our Catechists 
The role of the catechist is to provide age-appropriate instruction that helps children and teenagers to understand the teachings of the faith and prepare them to receive the Sacraments and develop their own personal relationship with Christ. Our catechists are members of the church community who share their time and talents to enrich the spiritual lives of our young people. Each catechists attends in service training programs for their curriculum as well as safe environment training. Those interested in being part of this important mission of the church are invited to contact us and learn more.
